Felipe Pantone, Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon tag Team in Mexico

- Following the unveil of his modern and elegant interpretation of the Alpine A110 at the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix, Felipe Pantone attended his second F1 race, the Mexico City Grand Prix, with Alpine F1 Team this weekend. - Spanish-Argentinean artist created a rapid artwork inspired by the street art of Mexico City, the colours of the Mexican flag and Alpine’s signature colours at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. - Alpine F1 Team drivers Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon added the finishing touches.

At his second race appearance, Felipe tookinspiration from the colours of the Mexican flag and the street art prevalentaround the Mexican capital to re-imagine the Alpine F1 Team logo in a stunningpiece of artwork created within the Mexico City Grand Prix paddock.

His canvas was no less than the team’s garagepanels, used to create the garage environment in which the A521 cars areprepared over a race weekend. Both Alpine F1 Team drivers, Fernando Alonso andEsteban Ocon, helped to finish his unique interpretation of the team logo, adding in their own touches to sign-off the work. The entire artwork, in whichthe Alpine F1 Team logo was transformed into a graffiti tag, took less than onehour to create.

Pantone is an artist based in Valencia, Spain.A graduate in Fine Arts, he has been a graffiti artist since the age of 12. Amix of conventional and abstract graffiti, his work is ultra-modern: thegraphic design of his works blends with highly evolved geometric forms, puttinginto perspective the movement and dynamism of the contemporary world.Constantly drawing, his artistic identity was structured through his meetingswith graffiti artists, dancers and other street artists. Pantone uses brightcolours and graphic patterns so that the eye of the spectator is focused on hiswork and not on what surrounds him.

Earlier in the year Pantone put aunique touch on the Alpine A110 to express the personality of the French sportscoupe by evoking a sense of “ultradynamism” and visual speed. The final resultof this collaboration was unveiled at the Monaco Grand Prix in May, with Pantonesigning off his stunning creation with a lap of the Monte-Carlo circuit withdouble world champion and Alpine F1 Team driver, Fernando Alonso.

Pantone also proposed hisinterpretation of a Formula 1 helmet, an iconic object of the motorsportdiscipline, and a Formula 1 car to celebrate the creation of Alpine F1 Team.

Laurent Rossi, CEO, Alpine:“Earlier in the year we teamed up with Felipe to imagine a bespoke livery forfour Alpine A110 cars. We were stunned by the intricacy of the designs and howdifferent graphical elements related to the unique characteristics of the car, speed and our connection to motorsport. We were delighted when he accepted ourinvitation to create another work in Mexico. This time the brief and materialswere very different; a rapid artwork using materials available in the paddockand city, but he could have access to two very special assistants! It was veryexciting to watch the work being created before our eyes and pleasing to seethe end result. Thanks Felipe!”

Felipe Pantone: “It wasa really cool experience to be in the paddock in Mexico and create a piece ofartwork. I used to do graffiti back in the day and the challenge is all aboutspeed; like it is in Formula 1. It was great to have Fernando Alonso andEsteban Ocon help me out too, as they are the true experts of speed! I’m superhappy to team up again with Alpine F1 Team after our first introduction earlierin the year in Monaco. The team is always looking to implement new ideas and itwas a pleasure to work with them again. Hopefully the finished product caughtthe eye in the paddock and brought a smile to people’s faces!”

A video edit of the creation of the artwork will be posted on AlpineF1 Team media channels at 17:30hrs UK time this afternoon.
